I am leaving for Hebei University in 33 days. I will be flying from Boston to Toronto to Beijing on August 25th 2008. I will be living in the dormitories at Hebei University, and I will be teaching English for three days a week for about an hour and a half each class period.

The last thing on the check list for things to do was to get a visa stamped on my passport. Today, my visa was stamped, and it's coming back to my house tomorrow at 10:30 am.

It's really going to happen! I am so pumped!

I'm graduating in 45 days. WHOA.
I'm staying in the Berkshires for the summer, and then it's off to Hebei.
Where has the time gone?

I really enjoy living in 61. I couldn't have asked for better housemates.

Earlier on in the school year, I focused a great deal on how I "need to leave my mark on the MCLA campus" but now, I'm at the point where no matter how hard I leave my mark, it probably won't be as effective as I would like because MCLA keeps changing. I have now realized that what I can change and improve are the friendships I have with people at MCLA while I'm still here. I've been blowing off homework to talk with friends but I feel that is what I need right now. This isn't the way that I want it to sound, but I am so glad that my fellow seniors are feeling almost the exact same feelings as myself. I feel that the time right before a life changing event, ( in my case graduation) is not only terrifying as hell, but it's a time where one can look at what he/she is really doing and hopefully realize that he/she is surrounded by people who truly care about them.

For instance, when I went home for Spring Break I had a miserable time. I had adults left and right telling me I needed to get my Master's Degree before I did anything else, reminding me about the diseases over there, and basically finding reasons why I shouldn't go. I had a particularly tough time talking with my mom, who is very apprehensive about my trip. Yesterday, I got a card in the mail from her, and while reading the card, I realized that she expresses many of her thoughts in the cards she gives me. Initally I was confused ( it's a birthday card) but after I read it, I realized that although my mom is apprehensive about my trip, she is still finding ways to tell me she loves me, which I appreciate very much.

Anyway, I feel that this entry has turned into a tangent, so I will post another entry another time.

P.S. I AM SEEING IDINA EFFIN' MENZEL IN 12 HOURS! WOWIE ZOWIE!

Stuff, Stuff and more Stuff

So I'm trying to sell all of my stuff. I have jewelry, silverware, books, hair dye, posters, DVDs, CDs, an unopened iPod shuffle and tons more.

How can I make the most profit?

Should I sell my stuff on Craig's List or e-Bay?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

just singin' and dancin' in the rain....

So today I went to the bank twice. The 2nd time I came out of the bank I had to walk home. As I left, for the first mintue or so, it began to lightly rain, so I thought, 'I'll just try and walk.' Then, like in the movies, to the poor soul who has incredibly bad luck, it started to POUR. I was concerned about the important peices of paper in my bag, so I jsut kept on truckin. I made it past the Dandilion Green, and as I was walking on Lexington St, I was fine, just iwhsing Alyssa was with me so we coudl play in the rain. Then, this car stops, and it's this girl I don't even know. She asked, " Are you ok?" I said, " Yeah, I'm just wakling home" She said "Hop in!" asnd so I did. Her name is Veronica and she works at D'Angelo's. She was smnoking and I can still smell the smoke but it doesn't matter becasue she gave me a ride and it was VERY VERY nice of her.
So, Veronica who works at D'Angelo's next to the Dandilion Green, if you somehow stumble upon this journal, I just want you to know that that ride showed me that there still are good people. Thank You.

I feel like a fucking nomad....

So I have less than 10 days than I go back to school. I love school, and I really am excited about my new job, but moving all the time SUCKS. I don't even move all my shit, probably 1/20th of it, but it SUCKS. ALWAYS MOVING AROUND SUCKS. Always making lists of what to bring. I think I would be much less aggravated if I had a car of my own. I ALWAYS feel as if I'm and inconvience bumming rides, and it makes me feel lousy.
I still have to clean my room.
It's waaaaaay too small, and it pisses me off.
My aunt is moving in, and I have to clean the downstiars office, meaning jsut put it all up in my small room.
There is WAAAAAAAAAAY too much shit in this house.
GRRRRRRRR.

BEEEEEEEYYYYYYTTTTTTAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

So the Beta Formal was tonight. It was "tolerable". ( I had some fun, but I was really tired) The foot was delicious but the music was too loud, I just wanted silence. A close second want was the new Dresden Dolls album. I stil haven't listened to the whole thing, but Sex Changes is AMAZING.
Maybe it's just me, but Amanda's voice sounds lighter in pitch and tone, and more girly.
Anyone else sense that?

Until next time...

P.S. Everyone who hasn't seen Amelie should go see it ( except for Alyssa, because she's gunna watch it with ME!)

ohhhhh procrastination

So yeah, I have an intro due at 9 am tomorrow. BOOOOOOO.
I'm so ready for the semester to be over.
If I had no extra curricular activites and just school work I would definitely love the semester, and vice versa (no academic work and all exrta curricular stuff) but both at the same time is quite the struggle. Tomorrow consists of the Leadership Banquet, work from 7-9 and then a Beta Social at 9 (if you go to MCLA and you know the location and amount, you should go). On Friday I have a meeting from 3:45 - 5:30, then meeting Rachel and Veronica, then hanging out with Josh. Saturday from 8 am - 1 pm I am helping with the Children's Fair, and I feel as if there is something else I am forgetting. Then, hell weekend consists of the Drag Dance (4/21) and the Beta Formal (4/22) OI VEY! It's hell week because I have many academic assignments due a few days after Formal.
I just hope my boyfriend and friends can understand that although I haven't talked to them much, I still think about them, and they are still as important to me as they were before I pledged and got in.

Until next time...

Too Busy for my own good

So, in the past week I've learned I got a job as a Writing Assistant for McLAH's IEP program, I learned I am going to be an RA in Fall 2006. Also, I'm seeing NIN tonight. Still can't believe all 3 things. I am so tired, and I am only going to get more tired, but I have to do what I have to do.

I feel horrible for only having pieces of conversations with my friends back in Burlington, once I am in Burlington, I will be available, I promise.

Love and Strength,
-Kim

These are all so corny, it's great!

Quick One-Liners
>>>
>>>1. Two antennas meet on a roof, fall in love and get
married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was
excellent.
>>>
>>>2. Two hydrogen atoms walk into a bar. One says, "I've
lost my electron. " The other says, "Are you sure?" The first
replies, "Yes, I'm positive..."
>>>
>>>3. A jumper cable walks into a bar. The bartender
says, "I'll serve you, but don't start anything."
>>>
>>>4. A sandwich walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Sorry
we don't serve food in here."
>>>
>>>5. A dyslexic man walks into a bra?
>>>
>>>6. A man walks into a bar with a slab of asphalt under his
arm and says, "A beer please, and one for the road."
>>>
>>>7. Two cannibals are eating a clown. One says to the
other: "Does this taste funny to you?"
>>>
>>>8. "Doc, I can't stop singing, 'The Green, Green Grass of
Home.'" "That sounds like Tom Jones Syndrome." "Is it
common?" "It's Not Unusual."
>>>
>>>9. Two cows are standing next to each other in a field.
Daisy says to Dolly, "I was artificially inseminated this
morning." "I don't believe you," says Dolly. "It's true, no bull!"
exclaims Daisy.
>>>
>>>10. An invisible man marries an invisible woman. The kids
were nothing to look at either.
>>>
>>>11. Deja Moo: The feeling that you've heard this bull
before.
>>>
>>>12. A man takes his Rottweiler to the vet and says, "My
dog's cross-eyed, is there anything you can do for him?" "Well,"
says the vet, "let's have a look at him." So he picks the dog up
and examines his eyes. Finally, he says, "I'm going to have to
put him down." "What? Because he's cross-eyed?" "No, because
he's really heavy."
>>>
>>>13. Apparently, one in five people in the world are
Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be
one of them. It's either my mom or my dad, or maybe my
older brother Calvin or my younger brother Ho-Chin. But I'm
pretty sure it's Calvin.
>>>
>>>14. I went to buy some camouflage trousers the other day
but I couldn't find any.
>>>
>>>15. I went to the butcher the other day to bet him 50
bucks that he couldn't reach the meat off the top shelf. He
said, "No, the steaks are too high."
>>>
>>>16. A man woke up in a hospital after a serious accident.
He shouted, "Doctor, doctor, I can't feel my legs!" The doctor
replied, "I know you can't -- I've cut off your arms!"
>>>
>>>17. I went to a seafood disco last week and pulled a
mussel.
>>>
>>>18. Two Eskimos sitting in a kayak were chilly; but when
they lit a fire in the craft, it sank, proving that you can't have
your kayak and heat it too.

Oh I can't wait to go home and do NOTHING. Josh's mom sent me an Advent Calendar and I got it today. It was an AMAZING surprise. It was awesome that I got one, because Lisa Sigourney and I were talking about how we wanted to make an Advent calendar. I was so glad Josh came over last night. We watched the Gaunlet and the COOLEST part of Kill Bill Vol 1. Yeah, I wish there was more to say, but all that's really going on is school.

I have to go find out where New Zealand is for Sigourney.

Until next time.......

12:19 : )

I am SO BORED....

LJ Interests meme results

beck:
Ohhhhhh beck. I saw him live at River Rave, and these girls were like, "Bring on Good Charlotte!" ( when they were SUPER HUGE and crappy, not when they were decent back in 2000) Anyway, as I got up fomr my seat I said, "I hope you girls like good music someday" and walked away.
Another great part about Beck is that I skipped my computer class last semester to buy Guero at Wal-Mart.

bjork:
Ok, she's just fan-fucking-tabulous. Seeing Bjork was very fun, and brought a person back into my life. I will forever be greatful for Bjork coming to the Pavillion back on August 31, 2003.
Another memory is a bittersweet one of Erin playing the 'I Miss You' video at John's computer. Also, at the Bjork concert, when she said " Shank you" it was GREAT.

death from above 1979:
OH DFA 79. At the moment all I can say is that I didn't get to see them, and I wil be upset if I don't see them again.
(Also, it's a great album to rock out/clean your room/pretty much do anything to)

finding neverland:
Ok, Kate Winslet, you are a goddess, and Johnny Depp you are God himself. Great movie, the ending makes it SUCH a tear-jerker.

i love the 80's:
Ohhhhhh Michael Ian Black. I love thee. The show is hilarious, and it periodically make sme feel nostalgic. I wish they wouldn't do i love the 80's in 3-D. What is VH1 going to do, send EVERYONE glasses?

kate winslet:
SHE IS THE MOST AMAZING ACTRESS ON THE PLANET. She's georgeous, she's fantastic, she's just fucking awesome. Period. I would totally love to meet her someday.

mos def:
MosDef is the HOTTEST black man EVUUUUR. He makes me wish I was black. His music is just so amazing. He makes he realize, 'Hey, I'm human, this is the only life I have, I should just live and love life.'
I heart the Zero 7 remix of Umi Says.

natural born killers:
I tired to watch this movie, but I fell asleep. Not much else I can say. (actually Juilette Lewis is pretty cool)

salemmass:
Oh Salem. I miss Salem very much. I was very lucky to go recently, I spent ALOT of money, but it was worth it. I finally got the Army shirt I wanted (the green one with the black star with red lining)and I also got my PALyssa's Merry Jewish present during to at trip. More bittersweet memories involving Erin.
It was very fun when Josh, Chelsea and I saw Shark Tale in the ridiculously cheap theatre.

surreal life:
I loved the season with the Brady and Adrienne. I haven't much of the current season, but Janice, the supermodel, seems INSANE.

Enter your LJ user name, and 10 interests will be selected from your interest list.
