I am leaving for Hebei University in 33 days.  I will be flying from Boston to Toronto to Beijing on August 25th 2008. I will be living in the dormitories at Hebei University, and I will be teaching English for three days a week for about an hour and a half each class period.

The last thing on the check list for things to do  was to get a visa stamped on  my passport. Today, my visa was stamped, and it's coming back to my house tomorrow at 10:30 am.

It's really going to happen! I am so pumped!

I'm graduating in 45 days. WHOA.
I'm staying in the Berkshires for the summer, and then it's off to Hebei.
Where has the time gone?

I really enjoy living in 61. I couldn't have asked for better housemates.

Earlier on in the school year, I focused a great deal on how I "need to leave my mark on the MCLA campus"  but now, I'm at the point where no matter how hard I leave my mark, it probably won't be as effective as I would like because MCLA keeps changing. I have now realized that what I can change and improve are the friendships I have with people at MCLA while I'm still here. I've been blowing off homework to talk with friends but I feel that is what I need right now. This isn't the way that I want it to sound, but I am so glad that my fellow seniors are feeling almost the exact same feelings as myself. I feel that the time right before a life changing event, ( in my case graduation) is not only terrifying as hell, but it's a time where one can look at what he/she is really doing and hopefully realize that he/she is surrounded by people who truly care about them.

For instance, when I went home for Spring Break I had a miserable time. I had adults left and right telling me I needed to get my Master's Degree before I did anything else, reminding me about the diseases over  there, and basically finding reasons why I shouldn't go. I had a particularly tough time talking with my mom, who is very apprehensive about my trip. Yesterday, I got a card in the mail from her, and  while reading the card, I realized that she expresses many of her thoughts in the cards she gives me. Initally I was confused ( it's a birthday card) but after I read it, I realized that although my mom is apprehensive about my trip, she is still finding ways to tell me she loves me, which I appreciate very much.

Anyway, I feel that this entry has turned into a tangent, so I will post another entry another time.

P.S. I AM SEEING IDINA EFFIN' MENZEL IN 12 HOURS! WOWIE ZOWIE!

Stuff, Stuff and more Stuff

Mar. 16th, 2008 | 08:49 pm
mood: creative creative

So I'm trying to sell all of my stuff. I have jewelry, silverware, books, hair dye, posters, DVDs, CDs, an unopened iPod shuffle and tons more.

How can I make the most profit?

Should I sell my stuff on Craig's List or e-Bay?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

"I don't think people are meant to be by themselves. That's why if you actually find someone you care about, It's important to let go of the little things. Even if you can't let go all the way. Because nothing sucks more then feeling all alone, no matter how many people are around."

I think I am going to watch Scrubs more often.

just singin' and dancin' in the rain....

Jun. 14th, 2006 | 02:11 pm
mood: weird weird
music: The delicious sound of the rain

So today I went to the bank twice. The 2nd time I came out of the bank I had to walk home. As I left, for the first mintue or so, it began to lightly rain, so I thought, 'I'll just try and walk.' Then, like in the movies, to the poor soul who has incredibly bad luck, it started to POUR. I was concerned about the important peices of paper in my bag, so I jsut kept on truckin. I made it past the Dandilion Green, and as I was walking on Lexington St, I was fine, just iwhsing Alyssa was with me so we coudl play in the rain. Then, this car stops, and it's this girl I don't even know. She asked, " Are you ok?" I said, " Yeah, I'm just wakling home" She said "Hop in!" asnd so I did. Her name is Veronica and she works at D'Angelo's. She was smnoking and I can still smell the smoke but it doesn't matter becasue she gave me a ride and it was VERY VERY nice of her.
So, Veronica who works at D'Angelo's next to the Dandilion Green, if you somehow stumble upon this journal, I just want you to know that that ride showed me that there still are good people. Thank You.

I feel like a fucking nomad....

Jun. 8th, 2006 | 03:34 pm
mood: bitchy bitchy
music: AFI - Miss Murder

So I have less than 10 days than I go back to school. I love school, and I really am excited about my new job, but moving all the time SUCKS. I don't even move all my shit, probably 1/20th of it, but it SUCKS. ALWAYS MOVING AROUND SUCKS. Always making lists of what to bring. I think I would be much less aggravated if I had a car of my own. I ALWAYS feel as if I'm and inconvience bumming rides, and it makes me feel lousy.
I still have to clean my room.
It's waaaaaay too small, and it pisses me off.
My aunt is moving in, and I have to clean the downstiars office, meaning jsut put it all up in my small room.
There is WAAAAAAAAAAY too much shit in this house.
GRRRRRRRR.

So my family left to go on vacation. I'm soooo tired. I still need to unpack. blah blah blah.
Had a VERY awesome day with Alyssa yesterday. Not only is she awesome, but so are pedicures. I ran into Lauren Cavalier at the mall and Kevin and Kelso at the BHS concert. I will ALWAYS see people, so I shoudl jsut get used to it.
Ok, peace out,
-Kimzilla

BEEEEEEEYYYYYYTTTTTTAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

Apr. 22nd, 2006 | 11:15 pm
location: My Townhouse
mood: happy happy
music: Dresden Dolls - Shores of California

So the Beta Formal was tonight. It was "tolerable". ( I had some fun, but I was really tired) The foot was delicious but the music was too loud, I just wanted silence. A close second want was the new Dresden Dolls album. I stil haven't listened to the whole thing, but Sex Changes is AMAZING.
Maybe it's just me, but Amanda's voice sounds lighter in pitch and tone, and more girly.
Anyone else sense that?

Until next time...

P.S. Everyone who hasn't seen Amelie should go see it ( except for Alyssa, because she's gunna watch it with ME!)

ohhhhh procrastination

Apr. 5th, 2006 | 09:19 pm
location: My Townhouse
mood: aggravated aggravated
music: Fiona Apple - Used to Love

So yeah, I have an intro due at 9 am tomorrow. BOOOOOOO.
I'm so ready for the semester to be over.
If I had no extra curricular activites and just school work I would definitely love the semester, and vice versa (no academic work and all exrta curricular stuff) but both at the same time is quite the struggle. Tomorrow consists of the Leadership Banquet, work from 7-9 and then a Beta Social at 9 (if you go to MCLA and you know the location and amount, you should go). On Friday I have a meeting from 3:45 - 5:30, then meeting Rachel and Veronica, then hanging out with Josh. Saturday from 8 am - 1 pm I am helping with the Children's Fair, and I feel as if there is something else I am forgetting. Then, hell weekend consists of the Drag Dance (4/21) and the Beta Formal (4/22) OI VEY! It's hell week because I have many academic assignments due a few days after Formal.
I just hope my boyfriend and friends can understand that although I haven't talked to them much, I still think about them, and they are still as important to me as they were before I pledged and got in.

Until next time...

Too Busy for my own good

Mar. 10th, 2006 | 12:50 pm
mood: exhausted exhausted

So, in the past week I've learned I got a job as a Writing Assistant for McLAH's IEP program, I learned I am going to be an RA in Fall 2006. Also, I'm seeing NIN tonight. Still can't believe all 3 things. I am so tired, and I am only going to get more tired, but I have to do what I have to do.

I feel horrible for only having pieces of conversations with my friends back in Burlington, once I am in Burlington, I will be available, I promise.

Love and Strength,
-Kim
